From junior school, I was fascinated about Chinese history. The history lesson has always been my favorite subject. Occasionally, I had known that the world's oldest percussion instrument is from China, the chime bells. Moreover, Zeng-hou-yi Bells is one of the most outstanding representatives of the chime bells. When I search for it on the Internet, unexpectedly, I found it was the collection of Hubei Province Museum and just in Wuhan City. I still remembered the ecstasy feeling at that time as if it were yesterday. When I see the chimes and other cultural relics in museum, I feel that I saw an old friend whom I hadn't seen for years. With a passion of unspeakable affection for Chinese history of cultural relics, I submitted volunteer docent application form to museum without any hesitation. After the regulated competitive employment procedure of museum, I began my study and research experience of the relics in the museum. I felt that I began know many knowledge of the cultural relics from library or by asking my senior colleagues in museum. I knew the lost production technology of copper plate, lost wax method, I knew the copper antler setting crane implied auspicious meaning and represents longevity, I also knew the rites and music system represented by nine tripods and eight Gui. I want to share my understanding of these cultural relics with others, and share the story of these relics shall be the main job of a docent in museum. Before my first time as a docent, I thought I shall be shy and may not speak loudly and feel uncomfortable in the presence of the strangers. However, when I really face the tourists, and tell the familiar story of the cultural relics, I was quite calm. I want to convey something, and I want to share something with others. All of the relevant knowledge is arranged orderly in my mind. Since that day, it becomes my first real experience that I know what the meaning of self-confidence is. The more familiar of the understanding with these cultural relics, the more self-confidence I felt. I never double my affection with cultural relics and their relevant stories. In introducing and telling the old story of cultural relics, I feel that I was introduced an old friend for tourists. As for my experience, confidence is not a vague word or a psychological suggestion in a certain occasion, but a result of respect for your own efforts and what’s your have done for the things you loved. I think this is the best interpretation of me for confidence, which I love and believe for.
