電話分線網(wǎng)

3.主接線板(MDF)

C. 范圍
1.一份新的智能化的報(bào)告和微處理器火災(zāi)控制探測(cè)系統(tǒng)必須按照NFPA 規(guī)格7(等級(jí)A)中的信號(hào)線路電路的要求進(jìn)行編碼。
2.基本性能:
a. 警報(bào)、故障和監(jiān)視信號(hào)形成全部智能化的報(bào)告設(shè)備采用NFPA 規(guī)格7(等級(jí)A)中的信號(hào)線路電路的要求進(jìn)行編碼。
b. 啟動(dòng)裝置電路(IDC)的組線等級(jí)為B(NFPA規(guī)格B)。
c. 通知設(shè)備電路(NAC) 的組線等級(jí)為B (NFPA規(guī)格Y)。
d. 數(shù)字化的電子信號(hào) 采用校驗(yàn)數(shù)位或者多次查詢方式。
e.單接地或者系統(tǒng)信號(hào)線路電路的開(kāi)出不得造成系統(tǒng)故障,無(wú)法操作或者喪失警報(bào)能力。
f.到達(dá)主要FACP的報(bào)警信號(hào)不得隨即發(fā)生停電(或者停機(jī)),直到報(bào)警信號(hào)已經(jīng)處理并且記錄。
3.基本的系統(tǒng)功能操作

The Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission a telephone system, including but not limited to telephone cabinets, telephone distribution frame, conduits and wiring, all as shown on the Drawings in strict compliance with requirements and specifications of local authority , and as herein specified.
Only a telephone terminal cabinet (TTC) will be provided for the each retail area where the distribution in these areas will be according to the tenant requirements.

Power Supply
Power supply consists a regulated 48 V direct feeding unit, with a charging attachment for trickle charging with uninterrupted change over to battery operation, and automatic return upon restoration of the AC power supply.
Batteries should be scaled lead acid type deep cycle with sufficient capacity for the 3 hours emergency operation during periods of peak traffic.

Telephone Distribution Network

Trie telephone installation distribution network should be completely separate from other systems wiring.
2. Telephon^Wiring
Multi-pair cables for indoor installation should be composed of insulated wires twisted to pairs, with a wrapping of insulating foil, aluminum foil and P.V.C. sheath of grey color. Diameter of conductors to be 0.6mm.
Single pair cables for wiring to outlets should be P.V.C. insulated and P.V.C. sheathed.
Multi-pair telephone cable for outdoor installation should be polythene sheathed conductors steel wire armored and polythene sheath overall.
Underground cables should be filled with petroleum jelly to prevent ingress of moisture.
Multi-pair (elcphone cables 1 lo 10-pairs should include an additional earth wire 0.4m. Above 10 pairs, cables should include 0.6mm earth wire.
3. Main Distribution Framc_XMDfi)
Size is to be as shown on the drawings.
Protection against over-voltage on all trunk circuits is to be provided by gas-discharge tube protectors and as shown on the Drawings.
Terminals are to be identified by numbered tags corresponding to respective lines and extensions; Proposed numbering scheme is to be submitted for approval. Wiring of internal and external lines is lo be implemented by double frame MDF and jumpering between feeder and distribution side.
4. Telephone Terminal Cabinets
Telephone terminal cabinets should have a general purpose type sheet metal or PVC enclosure for surface or (lush mounting as indicated on the drawings with plug-in or punch-down terminal modules.
Cabinets should house the necessary terminal blocks for terminating and lapping cables.
Ail telephone cabinets should have an identifying name plate of laminated opaque plastic engraved with white letters on a black background.

Outlet should be RJ45 flush type consisting of a black rigid P.V.C conneclor block with 4

SECT1ON-25 FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEM
The fire alarm and detection system shall be of the analogic ii<A!-es>dhlc type with control panel incorporating day and night sensitivity. The system shall be of the presignal four wire closed loop supervised.
Cables shall be 1.5mm2 twisted shielded pair with four colors. The system shall incorporate photoelectric smoke detectors, fixed and rate of rise detectors, manual pull stations and alarm bells. Interlock with AHU's and fans shall be provided and signals to fire pumps.
Areas incorporating FM 200 and C02 fire fighting equipment shall have their signals from detectors on different zones to prevent false alarm. Every detector will have an address and number with self-adjustment with panel and self-status.
The system shall have the capacity for Fire Fighters Phone, Area-of-Rescuc communication and also have the capacity for Fan & Damper control with monitored feedback.

1. This section of the specification includes the furnishing, installation and connection of the
microprocessor controlled, intelligent reporting fire alarm equipment required to form a
complete coordinated system ready for operation. It shall include, but not be limited to,
alarm initiating devices, alarm notification appliances, control panel, auxiliary control
devices, annunciators, and wiring as shown on the drawings and specified herein.
2. The fire alarm system shall comply with (he requirements of NFPA Standard No. 72 for
protected premises signaling system except as modified and supplemented by this
specification, where the more stringent requirement shall be implemented. The system
shall be electrically supervised and monitor the integrity of all conductors.
3. The fire alarm manufacturer shall be of the highest caliber and insist on the highest
quality.
4. The FACP and peripheral devices shall be manufactured 100% by a single manufacturer
(or division thereof).
Scope
1. A new intelligent reporting, microprocessor controlled fire detection system shall be
installed in accordance with the specification and drawings.
2. Basic Performance:
a. Alarm, trouble and supervisory signals form all intelligent reporting devices shall
be encoded onto an NFPA Style 7 {Class A) signaling line circuit.
b. Initiation Device Circuits (IDC) shall be wired Class B (NFPA Style B).
c. Notification Appliance Circuits (NAC) shall be wired Class B (NFPA Style Y).
d. Digitized electronic signals shall employ check digits or multiple polling.
e. A single ground or open on the system Signaling Line Circuit shall not cause
system mal function, loss of operating power or the ability to report an alarm.
f. Alarm signals arriving at the main FACP shall not be lost following a power failure
(or outage) until the alarm signal is processed and recorded.

quality of the specified equipment.
Shop Drawings
a. Sufficient information, clearly presented, shall be included to determine compliance
with drawings and specifications.
b. Include manufacturer's name(s), model numbers, ratings, power requirements,
equipment layout, device arrangement, complete wiring point-to-point diagrams,
and conduit layouts.
c. Show annunciator layout, configurations, and terminations.
Manuals
a. Submit simultaneously with the shop drawings, complete operating and
maintenance manual listing the manufacturer's name(s) including technical data
sheets.
b. Wiring diagrams shall indicate internal wiring for each item of equipment and the
interconnections between the items of equipment.
c. Provide a clear and concise description of operation that gives, in detail, the
information required to properly operating the equipment and system.
Software Modifications.
a. Provide the services of a factory trained and authorized technician to perform all ;ccliir-;iin to the site shall not exceed 4 hours.

b. Provide all hardware, software, programming tools and documentation ncccssai \ to modify the (ire alarm system on site. Modification includes addition and deletion of devices, circuits, -tones and changes to system operation and custom cable changes for devices or /ones. Modification of software shall not require power-down of the system or loss of system fire protection while modifications arc being made.
5. Certifications
Together with the shop drawings submittal, submit a certification from the major equipment manufacturer indicating that the proposed supervisor of installation and the proposed performer of contract maintenance is an authorized representative of the major equipment manufacturer. Include names and addresses in the certification.
E. Guaranty
All work performed and all material and equipment furnished under this contract shall be free from defects and shall remain so for a period of at least one (I) year from the dale of acceptance. The full cost of maintenance, labor and materials required to correct a defect during this one year period shall be included in the submittal bid.
P. Applicable Standards and Specifications

a. All equipment and components shall be new, and the manufacturer's current model.
The materials, appliances, equipment and devices shall be tested and listed by a
nationally recognized approvals agency for use as part of a protective signaling
system, meeting the National Fire Alarm Code.
b. All equipment and components shall be installed in strict compliance wilh
manufacturers' recommendations. Consult the manufacturer's installation manual
for all wiring diagrams, schematics, physical equipment sb.es, etc., before
beginning system installation.
c. All equipment shall be attached to walls and ceiling/floor assemblies and shall be
held firmly in place (e.g., detectors shall not be supported solely by suspended
ceilings). Fasteners and supports shall be adequate to support the required load.
2. Conduit and Wire
a. Conduit
i. Conduit where exposed shall he heavy gauge galvanized steel conduit and shall
be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NBC) , local and slate
requirements, ii. Where possible, all wiring shall be installed in conduit or raceway. Conduit fill
shall not exceed 40 percent of interior cross sectional area where three or more
cables arc contained within a single conduit. iii. Cable must be separated from any open conductors of power, or Class 1
circuits, and shall not be placed in any conduit, junction box or raceway
containing these conductors.
Wiring for 24 volt control, alarm notification, emergency communication and similar power-limited auxiliary functions may be run in the same conduits as initiating and signaling line circuits. All circuits shall be provided with transient suppression devices and the system shall be designed to permit simultaneous operation of all circuits without interference or loss or signals. Conduits shall not enter the Fire Alarm Control Panel, or any other remotely mounted Control Panel equipment or backboxes, except where conduit entry is specified by the FACP manufacturer.
i. All fire alarm system wiring shall he new.
ii. Wiring shall be in accordance with local, state and national codes and as
recommended by the manufacturer of tlic fire alarm system. Number and size
of conductors shall be as recommended by the fire alarm system manufacturer
and in general 1.5 mm2. iii. All wire and cable shall be listed and/or approved by a recognized testing
agency for use with a protective signaling system. iv. Wire and cable not installed in conduit shall have a fire resistance rating
suitable for the installation as indicated in NFPA 70 (e.g. FPLR) or (FP - 200). v. All field wiring shall be completely supervised.
Initiating circuits shall be arranged to serve like categories (manual, smoke, water flow) Mixed category circuitry shall not be pt,Tmitted except on signaling line circuits connected to intelligent reporting devices.
The Fire Alarm Control Panel shall be connected to a separate dedicated branch circuit, maximum 20 amps. This circuit shall be labeled at the Main Power Distribution Panel as FIRE ALARM. Fire Alarm Control Panel Primary Power wiring shall be 4rnm2. The Control Panel Cabinet shall be grounded securely to a grounding rod.
Main_Fire_AlarrnControl Panel
The FACP shall contain a microprocessor based Central Processing Unit (CPU). The CPU shall communicate with and control the following types of equipment used to make up the system: intelligent detectors, addressable modules, printer, annunciator, and other system controlled devices.
System General Operation
The Fire Alarm Control Panel shall include a full featured operator interface control and annunciation panel that shall include a backlit Liquid Crystal Display, individual, color coded system status LBDs, and an alphanumeric keypad for the field programming and control of the fire alarm system.
All programming or editing of the existing program in the system shall be achieved without special equipment and without interrupting the alarm monitoring functions of the Fire Alarm Control panel.
The FACP shall provide the following features:
Drift Compensation to extend detector accuracy over life. Sensitivity Test, meeting requirements of NFPA 72, Chapter 5.
Maintenance Alert to warn of excessive smoke detector dirt or dust
accumulation.
System Status Reports 10 display on printer.
Alarm Verification, with verification counters.
PAS presignal, meeting NFPA 72 3-8.3 requirements.
Rapid manual station reporting (under 2 seconds).
Non-Alarm points for general (non-fire) control.
Periodic Detector Test, conducted automatically by software,
Pre-alarm for advanced fire warning.
Cross Zoning with the capability of: counting two detectors in alarm, two
March time and temporal coding options. Walk Test, with check for two detectors set to same address. Control-By-Time for non-fire operations, with holiday schedules. Day/Night automatic adjustment of detector sensitivity. Device Blink Control for sleeping areas.
jntral Microprocessor
The Microprocessor unit shall communicate with, monitor, and control all external interfaces with the control panel. It shall include EPROM for system program storage; non-volatile memory for building-specific program storage; and "watch dog" timer circuit to defect and report microprocessor failure. The Microprocessor Unit shall contain and execute all control-by-event programs specific aclion to be taken if an alarm condition is detected by the system. Such control -by-event programs shall be held in non-volatile programmable memory, and shall nof be lost even if system primary and secondary power failure occurs. The Microprocessor unit shall also provide a real-time clock for time annotation of system displays, printer, and history file. The time-of-day and dale shall not be lost if system primary and secondary power supplies fail. The real time clock may also be used to control non-fire functions al programmed time-of-day, day-of-wcck, and day-of-ycar. Display
The display shall provide all the controls and indicators used by the system operator and may be used to program all system operational parameters.
The display shall include status information and custom alphanumeric labels for all intelligent detectors, addressable modules, and software zones.
The Display shall provide an 80-charactcr back-lit alphanumeric liquid Crystal Display (LCD). It shall also provide 5 Lighl-Hmitting-Diodes (LED's) that will indicate the status of the following system parameters: AC POWER, SYSTEM ALARM, SYSTEM TROUBLE, SIGNAL SILENCED, SUPERVISORY, and PRE-ALARM.
The Display shall provide key touch key-pad with control capability to command all system functions, entry of any alphabetic or numeric information, and field programming, two different password level shall be provided to prevent unauthorised system control or programming.
The Display shall include the following operator functions: SIGNAL SILENCE, RESHT, DRILL, and ACKNOWLEDGE
Signaling Line Circuit (SLC)
i. The SLC Interface shall provide power to and communicate with intelligent detectors (ionizalion. Photoelectric, or Thermal) and intelligent modules (monitor or control).This shall be accomplished over a single SLC loop.
11. The Loop Interface Board shall receive analog information from all intelligent defectors (hat shall be processed lo determine whether normal, alarm, or trouble conditions cxisl for each detector. The software shall automatically maintain the detector's desired sensitivity level by adjusting for the effects of environmental factors, including the accumulation of dust in each detector. The analog information shall also be used for automatic detector testing and for the automatic determination of detector maintenance requirements.
iii. The detector software shall meet NJ-TA 72, chapter 7 requirements.
iv. The detector software shall allow manual or automatic sensitivity adjustment.
f. Serial Interfaces
i. An interface between the Fire Alarm Control Panel and Electronic Data Processing (EDP) peripherals shall be provided.
ii. The interface shall allow the use of printers, CRT monitors, and PC compatible computers.
in. The interface shall include special protocol methods that allow off-site monitoring of the FACP over standard dial-up phone lines. This ancillary capability shall allow remote readout of all status information, including analog values, and shall not interfere with or degrade FACP operations when used. H shall allow remote FACP Acknowledge, Reset, or Signal Silence in this mode. It shall also allow adjustment of detector sensitivity and readout of the history file.
iv. The port for the serial connection of the optional Annunciators and remote LCD displays shall be provided.
v. The interface may be usexl for network connection to a Proprietary
Receiving Unit.
The control panel shall be housed in a cabinet suitable for surface or semi-flush
mounting. Cabinet and front shall be corrosion protected, given a rust-resistant
prime coat, and manufacturer's standard finish.
The door shall provide a key lock and shall include a glass or other transparent
opening for viewing of all indicators.
All interfaces and associafcd equipment are to be protected so that they will not be
affected by voltage surges or line transients consistent with standards.
Optional plug-in modules shall be provided for NFPA 72, chapter 4 transmitters as
well as a Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter.
An optional module shall provide 8 Form-C relays rated at 5.0 the relays shall track

The power supply shall operate on 220 VAC, 50Hz, and shall provide all necessary
power for the FACP.
It shall provide sufficient current of usable Notification appliance power, using a
switching 24 VDC regulator.

Operators Controls

The FACP software shall include silence inhibit and auto-silence timers.
iii. System Reset Switch: Activation of the system reset switch shall cause all electronically-latched initiating devices, appliances or software 7Oncs, as well as all associated output devices and circuits, to return to their normal condition.

Printer
The Printer shall provide hard-copy printout of all changes in sfatus of the system and shall time-stamp such printouts with the current time-of-day and date. The printer shall be standard carriage with 80-characters per line and shall use standard pin-feed paper. The printer shall be enclosed in a separate cabinet suitable for placement on a desktop or table. The printer shall communicate with the control panel using an interface complying with Flcctrical Industries Association standards.
Field Progra

The system shall be programmable, configurable and expandable in the field
without the need for special tools or electronic equipment and shall not require field
replacement of electronic integrated circuits.
All programming may be accomplished through the standard FACP keypad.
All field defined programs shall be stored in non-volatile memory.
The programming function shall be enabled with a password that may be defined
specifically for the system when it is installed. Two levels of password protection
shall be provided in addition to a key-lock cabinet. One level is used for status level
changes such as zone disable or manual on/off commands. A second (higher-level) is used for actual change of program information.
v. Program edit shall not interfere with normal operation and fire protection. If a fire condition is dcteclcd during programming operation, the system shall exit

Specific System Operations.
i. Smoke Detector Sensitivity Adjust: Means shall be provided for adjusting the sensitivity of any or all analog intelligent smoke detectors in the system from the system keypad.
ii. Alarm Verification: Each of the intelligent addressable smoke detectors in the system may be independently selected and enabled to be an alarm verified detector. The Alarm Verification delay shall be programmable from 5 to 30 seconds and each detector shall be able to be selected for verification. The FACP shall keep a count of the number of times that each detector has entered the verification cycle. 'These counters may be displayed and reset by the proper operator commands.
iii. Point Disable: Any Devices in the system may be Enabled or Disabled through the system keypad.
iv. Point Read: The system shall be able to display or print the following point status diagnostic functions.
a. Device status
b. Device type
c. Custom device label
d View analog detector values
f. All Program Parameters
v. System Status Reports: Upon command from an operator of the system, a status report will be generated and printed, listing all system status.
vi. System History Recording and Reporting: The Fire Alarm Control Panel shall contain a History Buffer that will be capable of storing up to 650 system alarm/troubles/operator actions. Each of these activations will be stored and time and dale stamped with the actual lime of the activation. The contents of the History Buffer may be manually reviewed, one event at a lime, or printed in its entirety. Although the foreground history buffer may be cleared for user convenience, a background, non-erasable buffer shall be maintained which provided the last 650 system events.
The History Buffer shall use non-volatile memory. Systems that use volatile memory for history storage are no( acceptable.
vii. Automatic Detector Maintenance Alert: The Fire Alarm Control Panel shall automatically interrogate each intelligent smoke detector and shall analyxe the detector responses over a period of time.
If any intelligent smoke detector in the system responds with a reading that is below or above normal limits, then the system will enter Ihc Trouble Mode, and the particular detector will be annunciated on the system display, and printed on the optional printer. This feature shall in no way inhibit the receipt of alarm conditions

in the system, nor shall it require any special hardware, special tools or computer expertise to perform.
viii. Pre-alarm function: The system shall provide two levels of pre-alarm warning to give advance notice of a possible fire situation. Both pre-alarm levels shall be fully field adjustable. Tne first level shall give an audible indication at the panel. The second level shall give an audible indication and may also activate control relays. The system shall also have the ability to activate local detector sounder bases at the
ix. Software Zones: The FACP shall provide sufficient software zones. All addressable devices may be field programmed to be grouped into these zones for control activation and annunciation purposes.
System Components
Programmable Electronic Sounders.
i. Electronic sounders shall operate on 24 V dc nominal.
ii. Electronic Sounders shall be field programmable without the use of special tools, to
provide slow whoop, continuous or interrupted tones with an output sound level of
at least 90 dBA measured at 3m from the device, iii. Shall be flush or surface mounted as shown on plans.
Strobe Lights with Every Sounder
i. Shall operate on 24 V dc nominal.
ii. Shall meet Ihe requirements of the ADA and shall meet the following criteria:
- The maximum pulse duration shall be2/10ths of one second.
- The strobe intensity shall meet the requirement of UL 1971.
- The flash rate shall meet the requirements of UL 1971.
- The appliance shall be placed 2m above the highest floor level within the space,
or 15cm below the ceiline, whichever is the lower.

Addressable Devices - General
i. Addressable Devices shall provide an address-setting means using rotary decimal switches.
ii. Addressable Devices shall use simple to install and maintain decade (numbered 1 to 10) type address switches. Devices which use a binary address setting method, such as a dip switch, are difficult to install and subject to installation error. This type of device is not an allowable substitute.
in. Detectors shall be Intelligent and Addressable, and shal! connect with two wires to the Fire Alarm Control Panel Signaling Line Circuits.
iv. Addressable smoke and thermal detectors shall provide dual alarm and power LEDs shall flash under normal conditions, indicating that the detector is operational and in regular communication with the control panel, and both LEDs shall be placed into steady illumination by the control panel, indicating that an alarm condition has been detected. If required, the flashing mode operation of the detector LBDs shall be optional through the system field program. An output connection shall also be provided in the base to connect an external remote alarm LED.
v. Smoke detector sensitivity shall be set through the Fire Alarm Control Panel and shall be adjustable in the field through the field programming of the system. Sensitivity may be automatically adjusted by the panel on a timc-of-day basis.
vi. Using software in the FACP, detcciors shall automatically compensate for dust accumulation and other slow environmental changes that may affect their performance. The detectors shall meet the calibrated sensitivity test requirements of NFPA 72 Chapter 7.
vii. The detectors shall be ceiling-mounted and shall include a separate twist-lock base with tamper proof features. An optional base shall be available with a built-in (local) sounder rated ai 85 dBA minimum.
Viii The detectors shall provide a test means whereby they will simulate an alarm condition and report that condition to the control panel. Such a test may be initiated at the detector itself (by activating a magnetic switch) or initialed remotely
ix. Detectors shall also store an internal identifying type code that the control panel shall use to identify the type of device (ION, PHOTO, THERMAL).
Addressable Pull Box (manual station)
i. Addressable Pull Boxes shall, on command from the Control Panel, send data to the
panel representing the state of the manual switch. They shall use a key operated
test-reset lock, and shall be designed so that after actual emergency operation, they
cannot be restored to normal use except by the use of a key. ii. All operated stations shall have a positive, visual indication of operation and utili/e
a key type reset. iii. Manual Stations shall be constructed of Lcxan with clearly visible operating
instructions provided on the cover. The word FIRE shall appear on the front of the
stations in raised letters, 45mm or larger. iv. Stations shall be suitable for surface mounting or semi-flush mounting as shown on
the plans, and shall be installed not less that 1m, nor more than 1.4m above the
finished floor, f. Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector - High Performance Type (HPO)
The detectors shall use the photoelectric (light-scattering) principal to measure smoke density and shall on command from the control panel, send data to the panel representing the analog level of smoke density. When there is a rapid rate of rise in temperature, (he sensitivity is increased to respond to very small smoke particles.
Intelligent Thermal Detectors
i. Thermal Detectors shall be intelligent addressable devices rated at 58°C and have
rate-of-rise clement rated al 9.4°C per minute. It shall connect via two wires to the
Fire Alarm Control Panel Signaling line circuit. Up to 99 intelligent heat detectors
may connect to one S1,C loop, ii. The detectors shall use an electronic sensor to measure thermal conditions caused
by a fire and shall, on command from the control panel, send data to the panel
representing the analog level of such thermal measurements, iii. An optional intelligent heat detector shall be available for applications which do not
require a rate-or-rise clement.
Intelligent Duct Smoke Detector
i. Duct Smoke Detector Housings shall accommodate either an intelligent ionization
sensor or an intelligent photoelectric sensor, that provides continuous analog
monitoring and alarm verification from the panel, ij. When sufficient smoke is sensed, an alarm signal is initiated at the FACP, and
appropriate action taken lo change over air handling systems to help prevent the

rapid distribution of toxic smoke and fire gases throughout the areas served by the duel system.
Addressable Dry Contact Monitor Module
i. Addressable Monitor Module shall be provided to connect one supervised 1EC ?onc of conventional Alarm Initiating Devices (any N.O. dry contact device) to one of the Fire Alarm Control Panel Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) Loops.
n. The Monitor Module shall be mounted in a 10cm square, 54mm deep electrical box.
lii. The IDC zone may be wired for Style D or Style B operation. A LED shall be provided that shall flash under normal conditions, indicating that the Monitor Module is operational and in regular communication with the control panel.
Two Wire Detector Monitor Module
i. Addressable Monitor module shall be provided to connect one supervised IDC zone
of conventional 2-Wire smoke detectors or alarm initiating devices (any N.O. dry
contact device), ii. The Two-Wire Monitor Module shall be mounted in a 10cm square, 54mm deep
electrical box or in an optional surface backbox. lii. The IDC zone may be wired for Class A or U (Style D or Style B) operation. A
LED shall be provided that shall flash under normal conditions, indicating that the
Monitor module is operational and in regular communication with control panel.
Addressable Control Module
i. Addressable Control Modules shall be provided to supervise and control the operation of one conventional Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) of compatibles 24 V dc powered, polarized Audio/Visual Notification Appliances. For fan shutdown and other auxiliary control functions, the control module may be set to operate as a dry contact relay.
ii. The Control Module shall be mounted in a standard 6cm square, 54mm deep electrical box, or in a surface mounted backbox.
iii. The Control module NAC circuit may be wired for Style Z or Style Y (Class A/B) with up to 1 amp of inductive A/V signal, or 2 Amps of resistive A/V signal operation, or as dry contact ( form C ) relay. The relay coil shall be magnetically latched to reduce wiring connecting requirements, and to insure that 100% of all auxiliary relay or NACs may be energized at the same time on the same pair of wires.
iv. Audio/visual power shall be provided by a separate supervised power loop from the main fire alarm control panel or from a supervised remote power supply.
v. The control module shall provide ad dress-setting means using decimal switches and shall also store an internal identifying code that the control panel shall use to identify the type of device. A LED shall be provided that shall flash under normal conditions, indicating that the control module is operational and is in regular communication with the control panel.
vi. A magnetic test switch shall be provided to lest the module without opening or shorting its NAC wiring.
vii. The Control module shall be suitable for pilot duly applications and rated for a minimum of 6 amps at 30 V dc.
Isolator Module
i. Isolator Module shall be provided lo automatically isolate wire-to-wirc short circuits on an SLC loop. The Isolator Module shall limit the number of modules or detectors that may be rendered inoperative by a short circuit fault on the SI ,C Loop.
Line Investment
At least one isolator module shall be provided for each floor or protected /one of
the building. ii. If a wirc-to-wire short occurs, the Isolator module shall automatically open-circuit
(disconnect) the SLC loop. When the short circuit condition is corrected, the
Isolator Module shall automatically reconnect the isolated section, hi. The Isolator Module shall not require any address -selling, and its operation shall be
lolally automatic. It shall not be necessary to replace or reset an Isolator Module
iv. The Isolator Module shall be mounted in a standard lOOrnm deep electrical box or in a surface mounted backbox. It shall provide a single LED that shall flash to indicate that the Isolator is operational and shall illuminate steadily to indicate lhal a short circuit condition has been detected and isolated.
Water Flow Switches
i. Flow swilches shall be integral, mechanical, non-coded, n on-accumulative retard
type, ii. Flow switches shall have an alarm transmission delay time that is conveniently
adjustable from 0 to 60 seconds. Initial settings shall be 30; 45 seconds. iii. Flow switches shall be located, a minimum of 300mm from a fitting that changes the
direction of the flow and a minimum of 900mm from a valve.
Sprinkler and Standpipc Valve Supervisory Swilches
i. Each sprinkler syslem water supply control valve riser or zone control valve, and
each standpipe system riser control valve shall be equipped with a supervisory
switch. Standpipc hose valves, and test and (train valves shall not be equipped with
supervisory switches, ii. Each Post Indicator Valve (PIV) or main gate valve shall be equipped with a
supervisory switch, iii. Mounl swiich so as not to interfere with the normal operalion of the valve and
adjusl to operate within two revolutions toward the closed posilion of the valve
control, or when the s!em has moved no more than one-fifth of the distance from its
normal posilion. iv. The mechanism shall be conlained in a weatherproof aluminum housing that shall
provide a 19mm lapped conduit entrance and incorporate the necessary facilities for
attachment lo the valves.
v. Swiich housing lo be finished in red baked enamel, vi. The entire installed assembly shall be tamper proof and arranged lo cause a swiich
opcralion if the housing cover is removed, or if the unit is removed from its
mounting, vii. Valve supervisory switches shall be provided and connecled under this section and
installed by mechanical contractor,

s. Serially Connected Annunciator Requirements,
i. The Annunciator shall communicate with the fire alarm control panel via
communications loop and shall annunciate all zones in the system. Up to 10
annunciators may be connected to the communications loop. ii. The annunciator shall need only four wires to connect to the FACP. iii. The annunciator shall provide a red Alarm l.RD per zone, and a yellow Trouble
LED per zone. The annunciator will also have an "ON-LINE" LED local piczo
sounder, local acknowledge/lamp test switch, and custom /.one/function
identification labels. iv. The annunciator switches may be used for System control such as. Global
Acknowledge, Global Signal Silence and Global System Reset.
t. LCD Alphanumeric Display Annunciator:
i. The Alphanumeric display annunciator shall be a supervised, remotely located back-lit LCD display containing a minimum of eighty (80) characters for alarm annunciation in clear English text.
ii. The LCD annunciator shall display all alarm and trouble conditions in the system.
iii. The annunciator shall connect to a two-wire interface. The two-wire connection shall be capable of distances of 1800mm. The signal may be increased in 900mm increments with an optional repeater. An optional module shall be available which allows the E1A-485 signal to be transmitted over Fiber Optics.
iv. The system shall allow a minimum of four LCD annunciators. Each LCD shall be capable of the following system function: Acknowledge, Signal Silence and Reset.
5. Batteries
a. Shall be 12 volt, Gel-Cell type (two required).
b. Battery shall have sufficient capacity to power the fire alarm system for not less
than twenty-four hours plus 5 minutes of alarm upon a normal AC power failure.
c. The batteries arc to be completely maintenance free. No Liquids are required.
There shall be no fluid level checks, refills, spills and leakage.
6. Fire Phone
When a Fire Phone Handset is plugged into a Fire Phone Jack, the LED on the Zone Control panel associated with that Fire Phone /.one will start flashing, A ringing signal will be heard to indicate that a handset has been jacked in. The ringing signal will cease when a Fire Phone Zone is selected.
Normally, only one Fire Phone Zone is selected at a time. Selecting another zone where a handset is jacked in will deselect the other zone(s). Where more than one /one is to be selected at a time, Party Line mode must be selected
Execution
1. Installation shall be in accordance with the NEC, NFPA 72, local and state codes, and
shown on the drawings, and as recommended by the major equipment manufacturer.
2. All conduit, junction boxes, conduit supports and hangers shall be concealed in finished
areas and may be exposed in unfinished areas. Smoke detectors shall not be installed
prior to the system programming and test period. If construction is ongoing during this
period, measures shall be taken to protect smoke detectors from contamination and
physical damage.
3. All fire detection and alarm system devices, control panels and remote annunciators shall
be flush mounted when located in finished areas and may be surface mounted when
located in unfinished areas.
Test
Provide the service of a competent, factory-trained engineer or technician authorized by the manufacturer of the fire alarm equipment to technically supervise and participate during all of the adjustments and test for the system. All testing shall be in accordance with NFPA 72, Chapter?.
a. Before encrgi/ing the cables and wires, check for correct connectic
short circuits, ground faults, continuity, and insulation.
b. Close each sprinkler system flow valve and verify proper supervisory alarm at the
FACP.
c. Verify activation of all flow switches.
d. Open initiating device circuits and verify that the trouble signal actuates.
c. Open and short signaling line circuits and verifies that the trouble signal actuates.
f. Open and short Notification Appliance Circuits and verify that trouble signal
actuates.
g. Ground all circuits and verify response or trouble signals.
h. Check Presence and audibility of tone at all alarm notification devices.
j. Check installation, supervision, and operation of all intelligent smoke detectors using the Walk Test.
k. Each of the alarm conditions that the system is required to detect should be introduced on the system. Verify the proper receipt and the proper processing of the signal at the FACP and the correct activation of the control points
1. When the system is equipped with optional features, the manufacturer's manual should be consulted to determine the proper testing procedures. This is intended to address such items as verifying controls performed by individually addressed or grouped devices, sensitivity monitoring, verification functionality and similar.
5. Final Inspection:
At the final inspection a factory trained representative of the manufacturer of the major equipment demonstrate that the systems function properly in every respect.
a. Provide instructions as required for operating the system. Hands-on demonstrations
of the operation of all system components and the entire system including program
changes and function shall be provided.
b. The Contractor and/or the Systems Manufacturer's representatives shall provide a
typewritten "Sequence of Operation" to the owner.
Provide addressable output command points from the fire alarm panel for the following:
1. Motorized windows that shall open or close during smoke management under a fire
condition.
2. Fan control of fans involved in smoke management.
3. All motorized smoke fire dampers.
4. Door release units for fire exit doors connected to the fire panel.
5. Bach elevator.
Addressable input points to the fire panel is required for the supervision of the following;
1. Open position and closed position of molori/ed windows that shall open or close
during smoke management under a fire condition (2 input points for each window).
2, Status of fans involved in smoke management.
3, Open position and closed position of all molori/.cd smoke fire dampers (2 input points
for each damper).
4. Water flow indication of water flow switches of fire /.one valves.

The lire alarm system shall be able to send SMS message of selected alarms to mobile phones, '['he BMS shall be able to send SNMP traps to HP open view software or e-mail messages.
Provide training for three personnel, for programming, commissioning, operation, testing, and trouble shooting of the system. At the end of this training the attendees shall receive a certificate from the manufacturer for the operation, programming, and maintenance of the system.
Provide four sets of manuals in hard copy and one set in soft copy for the following:
1. All system graphics; indicate the tag number of the equipment and each control point
2. All control logic; indicate the tag number of the equipment and each control name and
3. List of all control points parameters with the values used for commissioning.
4. Operator manuals for the supplied software.
5. Operation and maintenance manual.
